Type the dollar figure. A wrong answer tells you which way to go and how far off you were. Every rung reveals the citation and the date the figure last moved.

New decisions, rules and guidance a contracting officer should know about — with the line that actually matters, not just the link. Published Mondays.
Standing corrections
Things that are still wrong in a lot of desk guides, training decks and bookmark bars. These stay up until they stop being wrong.
Curated, not exhaustive. Links verified —. Nothing here is a paid placement.
Two things you look up mid-task. Every answer shows its citation and when the number last moved.
Short version: the only thing this site collects about you is an email address, and only if you type one into the subscribe box. Nothing else you do here is recorded or sent anywhere.
If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date you subscribed, and the two-letter country code our host reports for your connection. That is the entire record. We do not ask for your name, your agency, or anything else, and there is no field to give it to us.
No analytics. No advertising or tracking pixels. No cookies set by this site. No fingerprinting. No session recording. We do not know who visits, how often, or what you read.
Warrant and Threshold keep your streaks, scores and which puzzles you have played in your browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser storage erases it permanently, including your streak — there is no server copy to restore from.
The site is served by Cloudflare, which hosts the page, runs the subscribe endpoint, and stores the subscriber list. Cloudflare keeps its own standard network logs for security and abuse prevention, as any host does. It processes this data on our behalf and is the only third party with access to it. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives a request for the font file when the page loads.
We send you the weekly docket. That is the only use. We do not sell, rent, share, trade or hand over the list, and we do not use it to contact you about anything else.
Every issue carries an unsubscribe link. You can also write to hello@fullandopen.com and ask to be removed, or ask what we hold about you. Removal deletes the row — we do not keep a suppression list of people who left.
Many subscribers will use a government address. Check your own agency's rules on subscribing to outside publications with your work email before you do. That is your call to make, not ours, and we have no way to tell whether an address is permitted.
If this changes, the effective date above changes with it and we will say what changed. We will not retroactively apply a worse policy to data collected under a better one.
Short version: this is an independent site written by practitioners for practitioners. It is educational material, not legal advice and not official guidance, and you are responsible for checking the controlling text before you act.
Full and Open is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or speaking for the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council, the Department of Defense, the General Services Administration, or any other agency or government entity. Nothing here is official guidance, and nothing here has been approved by anyone in a position to approve it.
Reading this site does not create an attorney-client relationship, a consulting relationship, or any other professional relationship. Nothing here is a substitute for your own reading of the FAR, your agency supplement, your class deviations, your contracting officer's warrant, or advice from your own counsel. If a decision matters, take it to someone who is accountable for it.
Every game answer, threshold and docket item carries a pinpoint citation and an "as of" date. Those dates are load-bearing: thresholds move, clause numbering moves, and the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul is actively changing paragraph lettering while agencies run class deviations against different text. A citation that was right in September may not be right by March. Verify against the current controlling text before you rely on anything here.
Game content is reviewed by its author and marked for a second review by an experienced practitioner. Items that have not yet had that second review are marked as such in the reviewer view. We publish corrections rather than quietly editing; when something was wrong, the record says so.
Read it, play it, share it, quote it with attribution, and use it to train your people. Do not scrape it wholesale, republish the content as your own, sell it, or present it as official material. Do not attempt to break the subscribe endpoint or use it to send mail to addresses that are not yours.
Quoted regulatory and statutory text is a work of the United States Government and is in the public domain. The scenarios, explanations, commentary and the way things are organised here are ours. Outbound links go to sites we do not control and are not responsible for; a link is not an endorsement.
The site is provided as is. We do not warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including a decision you made, a determination you signed, or a file you built on something you read here. That responsibility stays with you, which is the same place it sits in your day job.
These terms can change; the effective date above will change with them. Questions, corrections and dead links: hello@fullandopen.com. Corrections are the most useful mail we get.
One email on Monday: what changed, what got decided, and what it means for the file on your desk. Written for the people who run the competitions.
Weekly, no vendor pitches
Not wired up yet — the list opens with the first issue.
